The Entrance
Vintage Park is an area, about 6 acres of land, about five miles from the outskirts of Blitz Base. From the main road around the center of the property, an earthy flagstone is laid out into a driveway. An arched wrought iron gate stands before you, connected to two tall, square stone columns, which the stone connects and curves downward in a 1/4th circle to normal fence height, and extends around the perimeter of the property. In the fourth of the circle, two tall, white Crape Myrtles stand, shading the area. Underneath the trees, two Inkberry bushes grow rounded, and on either side of them are four Sugarcane Plumegrass, boldly standing out against the light stone. In front of the Inkberry bushes are smaller perennials such as crimson Gerber Daises and Arizona Sun Blanket-flowers mixed into each other, and white Chinese Bellflower coming to the edge of the flagstone driveway. On the side of each plumegrass, a Mandeville grows up the wall, sprouting brilliant red flowers. On the left side of the curve, a small miniature turret sits, where the guard keeps post on who enters and leaves. The wrought iron gates slowly slide open to reveal the interior of Vintage Park.

The Courtyards

Southern Courtyard
Once you’ve been let into Vintage Park, you are now in the Courtyard. Flanking the flagstone driveway are two enormous, ancient oak trees, shading most of the entryway. Small perennials create small, circular beds around them, bordered with miniature Lirope. Rich, lush St. Augustine grass grow sparsely where the gardens don’t venture to. And suddenly, about 7 yards from the gate, the road splits three ways around a turn-about, which is an enormous fountain, spraying gallons of water into the air with one row of yellow Marigolds around it.

The road in front of you leads to the Northern Courtyard, the one to your left leads to the Western Courtyard, and the one to your right leads to the Eastern Courtyard. According to the map you were given at the gate, you’re currently in the Southern Courtyard. On the right, outside corner of the road a New Orleans style street sign stands tall. The one road that goes from the Southern Courtyard to the Northern Courtyard reads “Vintage Boulevard,” and the road that goes east to west reads “Abbastanza Street.”

Western Courtyard
If you’ve taken the left driveway, you find yourself in the Western Courtyard. Two white Crape Myrtles, smaller than the two at the entryway, stand on either side of the street. Lirope creates a border on either side of the road where the flowerbeds are. In the flowerbeds are various perennials, each matching the warm color scheme. Roman statues and fountains are seen throughout the gardens, each elegantly accenting the other with their similar, but not identical, style. Tall oak trees are sparse, but each provides massive amounts of shade, keeping most of the area shaded without need for umbrellas. The ground rolls gently, and the flowerbeds each take advantage of that. Layered beds can be seen throughout Western Courtyard, with Bougainvillea trailing from the abrupt drop in the landscape. Rich red Azalea bushes line the fence, cut precisely one foot below the fence.

The road turns abruptly inward, and then two oaks border the road, and then it stops. A large gazebo stands before you, with white Crape Myrtles, small bushes, and perennials surrounding it. A humongous swing sits in the center, facing a grand lake. The lake is kept natural. Large mounds of cattails and tall oak trees surround it, but a boardwalk extends from the north side, leading out to a small covered area with a wrought iron and wood bench facing the beauty of the wilderness beyond. Tall trees and wild brush grow, tangled together in a miniature forest with a nature trail through it. Around the pond are large trees, but nothing more to preserve the natural beauty of the lake, large cattails on the water’s edge, and Lotus flowers and Lily Pads inside the lake on the edge, floating on the water’s surface.

Eastern Courtyard
Abbastanza Street extends to the right, leading to the Eastern Courtyard, and you will see statues, shrubbery, and many more flowers. There to greet you at the beginning of your journey is gorgeous shrubbery with small white flowers. The smaller plants have large yellow flowers, such as the daisies, lilies, and marigolds, as well as the red Mandeville that covers the ground, and stops about an inch away from the Lirope that lines the driveway. Large statues of Roman Soldiers, Italian women holding pots with water flowing out of it, and right before the driveway turns inward, a small waterfall. It is lined with rocks and grass. It is about as high as the stone wall behind it, and it has vines growing around it. Water falls from rocks at the top, pouring into an enormous basin with spiky rocks and lily pads where fish swim. You continue down the driveway, and it turns inward, but no trees this time, it was nothing but gardens. The pathway branched off into many other small streets, displaying an array of exotic flowers, trees, shrubbery, and hardscapes.

From the first branch off, grasses stir in the scented breezes. Bamboo panels and tactically placed plants create seclusion. This meditation-garden, elegant in its simplicity, creates a peaceful, soothing spot for hushed reflection. The earthy flagstone creates a circular path to the seating area, which is a small, backless wooden bench. A small Redbay tree stands, shading the bench. Next to the seating area, large Bushy Bluestem grows, creating extra privacy. In front of the bench is a small, circular fountain, becoming the focal point of the meditation garden. Below the fountain, in a small open area, lavender vines out to the flagstone, creating a pleasant scent throughout the garden. Past the fountain area few boulders placed simply next to each other, making them look very natural with Bushy Bluestem growing tall above them, and Lantana growing on either side of the plants and boulders. Candle lanterns or solar lights light this garden for evening visits. And from the outside, the bamboo fence's varied height gives the meditation garden an elegant sculptural quality.

From the second branched off pathway, a smell catches your attention. Oranges? The flagstone extends to the left and on the ground, Highbush Blueberry grows on a bush to your left, and Dwarf Asian Jasmine grows between the stones and around the circular seating area. A minute fruit garden lies just beyond an arbor, bearing Paul Ecke Purple Passion fruit growing around it, engulfing it, and to the right of the arbor, a Celeste Fig tree grows tall. Balancing out the fig tree, a Navel Orange tree grows higher than the fig tree, shading the entryway to the fruit garden. On the small flagstone patio, a wrought iron bistro table with two chairs sits adjacent from a strawberry pot, where crimson, plump Strawberries grow from each opening in the pot. Yellow Anise grows next to the stone wall, bordering the back. Where there are small, open, grassy areas, pots bearing ruby-red Tomatoes sit. Cattycorner to each other on the far side of the patio are two trellises, one large, and one small. Muscatine Grapes grow on the larger one, and Meiwa Kumquats grow on the smaller one. With this garden of edibles, numerous varieties of fruits available within easy reach. Every time the wind blows, the heavy scent of citrus and berries fill the air. Finally, small

From the final branch off, a beautiful color garden brilliantly stands out against the green shrubbery and earthy flagstone. An arbor stands at the entrance, with elegant Crossvine climbing up it. A short pathway turns at 90 degrees with a small wooden bench under a Toronto Crape Myrtle. On either side of the short pathway, Sapphire Sage Salvia, White African Iris, and Purple Lovegrass grow with vibrant splashes of color against emerald foliage. A tetur stands on the outside of the angled pathway, Amethyst Passion Vine reaches around the white wood. Santa Barbara Mexican Sage was placed next to the bench, and goes around it until a small, bare patch of mulch around the tree. Japanese Garden Juniper sits in front of you, with bright white buds climbing up a small trellis. Bright splashes of color and evergreen foliage make this area a beautiful escape from the world every season.

At the end of the pathway, a beautiful oak gazebo sits in a circular path with two oaks on either side, shading it. Hanging from the boughs are small, bright white teacup lights on a string through the branches, illuminating the area, with small gardenia bushes around the gazebo, and three light posts on the sides, tying the knot around this beautiful space.

Northern Courtyard
“Vintage Boulevard,” continues northward. A vine-draped arbor greets you, and stone walkways wind past pots of annual color, like Marigolds and Begonias growing out of them. Numerous spreading, mounding and cascading blooms sheltered by a flowering tree line the pathway, while the overhead canopy provides summer shade, a cluster of shrubbery provide enclosure. A vine clambers over a tuteur on your left to provide a vertical architectural focal point. The undulating border and meandering pathways provide easy access to all of the plants and containers of color. Vibrant fragrances light up your senses, until the home is visible.

Exterior
Suddenly, two giant oaks cut off the garden, and reveal a gorgeous home. The flagstone driveway inclines, leading into an arched garage with a dark wooden door. Inside are Alisha, Alec, Bella, and Harley’s cars. Branching off of the driveway is a flagstone sidewalk that leads to the front door. Spectacular in design, the stucco entryway protrudes from the home and arches around the thick, arched oak door. Two New Orleans style lanterns add light to the front door at night, and are attached to the stucco at exactly 5 feet high. The chimney rises from the ground next to the door, and angles downward to a small archway and door, which leads to the backyard. Downstairs, the large arched window allows light into the formal dining room. Architectural design allows a portion of the home to jut out at about a thirty degree angle where the garage is, and a spare bedroom. Upstairs, a false door sits with a wrought iron balcony, around it is the same stucco around the door. The shingles are dark, and caps are around each corner, adding an elegant touch to the beautiful home. Sophisticated landscaping adds the final touch.

Interior

First Floor

Foyer
The elegant oak doors slide open and reveal a grand curved staircase and colossal wrought iron chandelier hanging from the lofty ceilings. Dark hardwood floors and bright creme colored walls contrast beautifully to bring out a beautiful traditional theme. Ahead of you is the staircase with a small arched doorway leading to the parlor. The banister of the staircase goes along the stairs, and up to a loft overlooking the foyer, and leading to the bedrooms. To the right of the stairs is a beautiful brick archway and too the left of them is a door that leads to the parlor, and beyond the brick archway is the dining room and the kitchen beyond that.
Once you walk in, there is a large, ornate sofa facing the brick fireplace on the far wall. Its frame is dark oak, and deep brown leather covers the back, bottom, and arms of the couch, with rich red fabric cushions and pillows placed intricately on the back, with a cylindrical pillow in the center. Behind it is a wrought iron rectangular table with a beautiful urn filled with an ivy, and a wrought iron lamp on either side of it. The large bay window to your right is covered with light sheers, and a sleek, elegant Grand Piano sits on the raised portion under the bay window. Two tall, white round pillars stand, flanking the window, and two small oak chairs in front of the raised portion of the floor under the bay window. Across from the couch are two, vintage, elegant chairs made of dark oak with khaki colored upholstery, and a small circular wrought iron table sits next to the one on the left with a matching lamp like the one on the runner table atop it, and a potted peace plant sits in a white pot on a stand behind the chair on the right. Atop the fireplace is an elegant white mantle with two matching urns on either side of a large circular mirror hanging from the brick a few inches above the mantle. Overlooking the foyer is a large brick wall above the formal dining, which has two elegant stone statues in them with ivies trailing underneath them, and underneath the insets is the brick archway, which leads to the formal dining. is the formal dining.

Formal Dining
The formal dining is a large, rectangular shaped room connecting the Kitchen and Breakfast Nook and Foyer. Its raised up from the foyer, and a large octagon shaped inset is pushed up from the roof, where a colossal chandelier hangs above an ornate, oval shaped oak table that seats 12, and an elegant hutch sits to the right of it. In the inset is a beautiful mural of the sky painted by Bella. Above the hutch is a large painting of the Tuscan countryside, also painted by Bella. On the far wall is a French Door that leads to the patio with elegant Roman shades covering them add a warm and functional addition to the space. The wall curves around the staircase to reveal the kitchen and breakfast nook.

Kitchen and Breakfast Nook
The curved wall evens out at a right angle, and reveals the kitchen that is elegant in its complexity. Beautiful oak, handmade cabinetry wraps around the room, varying with solid doors and glass doors, and stainless steel appliances are sparse, but match beautifully. The stainless steel refrigerator with a glass door sits in an inset between a panel of oak and the cabinets. Varying sizes of brown tiles cover the floor, and on the light grayish granite counter tops sit a microwave next to the refrigerator, and other kitchen essentials. The island extends out to a small bar where two bar stools sit at it, with cabinetry on every side but the side with the stools. A stainless steel sink is set in the center of the island on the side near the oven. A wine cooler sits next to drawers on the far side as well. Across from the island is a very large dual gas oven and range, with elegant creme colored tiles create a beautiful back-splash behind it with a rose engraved in a gray tile of granite, matching the counter-tops, and a creme colored hood trimmed with oak sits above the range. To finish off the kitchen is a beautiful wrought iron chandelier. Past the island and beyond the whole kitchen is the breakfast nook.
The breakfast nook is very simple. Its simply a circular, wrought iron and glass table and chairs set with a painting on the far wall above it, and an arched window on the wall to your right. This is where the group eats normally, unless a party is thrown, they won't use the formal dining much. An archway on the wall across from the window leads to the living room.

Living Room
From the Foyer, the archway near the stairs leads to the Living room, and from the Nook, its the door across from the large arched window. On the left wall, a gigantic fireplace stands with two arched windows on either side of it, with a golden tan scarf valance draped over it, pooling what couldn’t cover the window frame on the floor. A wide screen television sits above the mantle, and small pictures on either side of it. On the floor is a rectangular rug, with a tan sectional couch across from the fireplace, and a matching recliner to the left of it. In front of the couch is a dark oak table, and two matching side tables sit on either side of the couch. A miniature version of the chandelier in the entryway hangs in the center of the room, and two white ceiling fans are suspended on either side of it. Beyond the couch is a small, circular raised area, flooded with light through the bay window, with light white sheers handing over the window, tied along the crease where the drywall connects the windows. On the left of the archway is another archway that leads to a small hallway that branches off into the Guest Bedroom and Parlor.

Parlor
The Parlor is a simple, medium sized room, used normally for studying and reading, and it contains many books. The walls are painted a light green, baseboards and crown molding are white. A chair and ottoman, and a chair and a half face each other on a white rug. Bookshelves line the walls, and a large, arched window allows ample light into the otherwise dark space. A small desk sits in one corner, oak, this is where studying, writing, and reading take place.

Guest Bedroom
The guest bedroom is very large. The walls are painted a dark blue with the baseboards and crown molding is lighter, country blue. A King sized bed faces the large French doors that lead outside, which are on the left wall. Heavy curtains are pulled back to let in light, but at night they are closed. The television comes up from the footboard. Two nightstands are on either side of the bed. Victor Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” hangs above the bed in an ornate frame. A door next to the bed leads to the guest bathroom.

Patio
The Patio is a medium sized, outdoor room. The room extends over the patio, where elegant furniture sits, facing the large pool and deck. The deck goes around a large, square, descending depth pool with a fountain on the far side, spraying water into the pool. To the left, a brick wall extends from the house, making an outdoor kitchen with a barbeque pit. Four queens palm trees shade the area, but it’s still extremely sunny.

Second Floor

Upstairs Hall
The upstairs hall is simply an L shaped hall atop the spiral staircase. The long part of the hall, on the left side, is an elegant wall of arched windows with small semicircular tables in between. On top of the tables are various 5 by 7 frames with pictures of the residents doing an assortment of activities, and occasionally small potted ivies. On the opposite side, oak doors line the wall, leading to the individual bedrooms and bathrooms of Alec, Bella, Alisha, and Jacob. On the shorter side, it’s simply doors leading top Harley’s room, the Library, a studio, and a balcony facing the back yard of the home, with an arched window on the end.

Alec’s Bedroom
Alec’s bedroom is the first door on the long part of the L shaped hall near the spiral staircase. There aren’t many things hanging on the dark blue walls, but hanging from the tray ceiling is simply a white ceiling fan and four pot lights in either corner. The small, twin bed in the corner is covered with a white and red comforter with deep crimson sheets and a whiten dust ruffle. Two Euro Sham covered pillows sit, leaning on the thick cherry headboard. Near the foot of the bed, a small desk sits, with Alec’s laptop and a few papers rest. A wide screen television is mounted on the opposite wall with a long shelf underneath. On the shelf, a DVD player, Wii, and small picture of Alec’s family sit, and nothing more. To the left of the TV is a door leading to his bathroom. To the right of the TV is a door leading to Alec’s small closet. Only living with the bare essentials, Alec’s room is quite bare.

Bella’s Bedroom
Bella’s room is much larger than the two smaller bedrooms downstairs. On the crimson walls hang a few of Bella’s photography. The Trevi Fountain, Leaning Tower of Piza, and many more Italian landmarks are captured in time underneath a thin sheet of glass and white mat. Her queen-sized sleigh bed is up against the right wall, facing the middle of the room, where a large, oak entertainment center is, holding her TV, Wii, iHome, and all her other electronics. Two matching nightstands are on either side of her bed. There is a French door on the far wall, which leads to a balcony facing the Northern Courtyard, which she shares with Alisha. Over the door are white sheer curtains, held back by small knobs. There is a door on the same wall as the entrance door, which leads to Bella’s Bathroom and closet.

Alisha’s Bedroom
Next to Bella’s room, Alisha’s bedroom is quite spectacular. The olive green walls and white molding contrast beautifully. A queen sized, oak sleigh bed lies in the center of the far wall, and above it is a beautiful scan of Monet’s Water Lilies in an ornate frame. Covering it is an elegant bedspread. Flanking the bed are two bedside tables with wrought iron lamps, each topped with a tan lampshade. On the near wall is a mounted flat screen television. Under it is a small shelf containing two ivies on either side with their vines trailing onto the shelf and hanging off, and a DVD Player, Wii, and vintage Nintendo 64. On the left wall are two doors, the left leading to the bathroom, and the right leading to a long walk-in closet. In between them is an oak Cheval mirror. On the right wall is a French door leading to the shared balcony.

Jacob’s Bedroom
The last bedroom on the longer part of the hall, Jacob’s bedroom isn’t quite as elegant as Alisha and Bella’s, but not as bare as Alec’s. Taking on the very contemporary style, Jacob’s room is quite modern. Wall colors include a base of pewter and accents of various shades of blue. Behind the bed, squares of varying shades of blue reach from the floor to about two feet above the bed. Two rectangular floating shelves hold two bedside lamps and a short, three drawer dresser sits on the opposite wall with a diamond-shaped mirror above it. Flanking the mirror are two floating shelves, varying in size and background colors, which contain a few books and trinkets from vacation and trips. On the bed, a shiny gray bedspread with country blue and dark blue sheets and pillows are placed. On the square window on the right wall, a blue roman shade is pulled up, allowing light into the room. On the near wall is two sliding doors and a door leading to his bathroom are painted varying shades of blue to tie into the theme.

Harley’s Bedroom
Harley’s bedroom is located on the smaller part of the L shaped Hall. In the center of the far wall, Harley’s bed queen sized sits. The fabric, rectangular headboard is tan, with two fabric buttons in the adjacent from each other in the center. The luxe textiles atop the bed include a khaki, organic maletesse duvet cover and shams, four pillows leaning on the headboard, two long crimson ones in the back, and a tan cylindrical pillow placed at the bottom, with a black, circular pillow in between them, and a khaki box-pleat dust-ruffle. At the foot of the bed is a rattan tray with Harley’s satin PJs, atop a khaki throw blanket. On either side of the bed are two parson-style tables. Each tabletop holds a bedside lamp, and a potted orchid. Across from the bed is a flat screen television mounted to the wall, with two oval mirrors hanging on the tan walls on either side of the TV, and a three drawer dresser sits underneath it. Next to the mirrors are two doors leading to a bathroom and closet.

Library
The Library is across the hall from Harley’s room. Tall, 15 foot walls are covered with bookshelves that are crammed with thousands of books. In the center, two arched windows flank a bay window that faces out to the Western Courtyard. Two vintage, wooden chairs face the windows with a small bistro table in between. Underneath the furniture is a circular tan rug. Along the right wall are two desks with Dell desktop computers on them, and a large fax machine to the left of them. The room’s simplicity creates an elegant space for silent meditation and reading.

Studio
Created for Bella, a small studio is adjacent to the Library, near the arched window. The room is smaller than most, but stores more than the others with strategically placed cabinetry and closets. From the floor, a row of cabinets start from the door and wrap around the room with drawers above them. A light granite countertop is placed above them, and on the right wall sits a stainless steel sink. Above the counter are more cabinets on the far wall, and shelves on the right, left, and near walls. In the cabinets and drawers, paint tubes, different types of paintbrushes, pastels, charcoal sticks, pallets, watercolor tubes, canvases, folding easels, and many other art supplies are placed neatly inside of them. On the shelves are various sculptures and paintings made by Bella. In the far corner, a pottery wheel sits, tainted with clay splatters and paint, and a kiln is in the closet next to it. On the opposite corner, a large, wooden easel stands with a half-finished painting on it, and tubes of empty paint sit on a small rolling island next to it, with brushes in the sink.

Alas, a cornucopia of love!

Right as the sun was setting, Max drove up the driveway of Vintage Park in his '69 Rolls Royce. He stopped his car behind the others parked there, all of which he gaped at. He would admit, he was rather amazed at how nice a house this one. He stood up from his car and closed the door, and then strode up the sidewalk and to the front door of the actual house. He was careful to make sure his white pants didn't drag on the ground; then it wouldn't match the nice white shoes and jacket he wore, under which, of course, he had a rich red vest and tie to match his car. He ran his fingers through the length of his hair once and then knocked.
I see you sit and swallow pain for all of those who will not speak,
You raise your voice, you fill the stage, your eyes are wide.
You know the weakness that you've felt is not just yours, so many more.
You are not alone.

Footsteps were heard on the hardwood floors, heels to be exact. And the door swung open to reveal a sweaty Bella. She had obviously been running around tending to Alisha, for the makeup on her shirt and the small burns on her fingers. She threw her matted hair out of her face and stepped to the side,
"Hey! Alisha's just finishing up. Have a seat!" She said, bringing him to the living room and running up the grand staircase to tend to Alisha, leaving him with Harley. Harley sat on the couch in a t shirt and jeans, she smiled but said nothing, just waited for Alisha to come down.

Max smiled slightly and sat down, careful not to mess his suit up or anything. He nodded once towards Harley and then just looked around the living room, in a slight awe.

Harley got up from the couch, and walked over to the piano on the raised area by the bay window. She taped on the ivory keys a few times, and sent the piano into a beautiful soft melody. Just as the piano started playing, a loud bang from upstairs resonated. Harley never flinched, knowing it was just a door opening upstairs. The piano continued to play, and heels on the hardwood resonated through the room, louder than the piano. Around a corner above the grand staircase revealed Alisha. She was dressed in a beautiful crimson satin dress. The neckline was a deep plunge until a teardrop shaped diamond, where the fabric gathers near it. The back straps came around the back, and crisscrossed with two others, leaving the back open. A diamond shaped formed where another tear drop diamond pendant sat, where the fabric gathered and with an extra piece of fabric fell to the ground, and the bottom had a small trail, which pooled on the floor. The hips were rather tight, but not quite a mermaid fit, and the front stopped right at the floor. She was wearing strappy, silver heels, very simple. Her hair was curled loosely, and draped across her shoulders, with teardrop shaped earrings dangling down under her blonde hair. On her wrist was a thin diamond bracelet that was given to her from her great grandmother. Flawless makeup and hair done by Bella, Alisha wouldn’t trust herself with something like that tonight. She looked at Maxwell and raised one eyebrow at him, but she was sure he couldn’t see. She walked down the stairs and grabbed her silver flat-wallet from the bottom of the banister, and smiled.

Max stood up and looked at Alisha as she came down the stairs. His eyebrows rose together and he smiled a bit. "Oh, wow. If you don't mind me saying, you look awfully pretty." He walked nearer to her, continuing to smile.

The piano played softly in the background at the two made their way out the door. When the door closed, she looked to Maxwell.
"Okay you can get your hand off my back now." She said, taking one long stride ahead of him and twirling around on her heel.

Max moved his hand and looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, ma'am," he said, sticking his hands in his pants pockets. "I drive the Rolls Royce, if you would like to open you own door, too," he added.
I see you sit and swallow pain for all of those who will not speak,
You raise your voice, you fill the stage, your eyes are wide.
You know the weakness that you've felt is not just yours, so many more.
You are not alone.

Max snorted as he walked around the back of the car and to the driver's door. He got in and quickly started it up, turning around in the drive way and driving out. "So what would you like for dinner?"

"Well, geez, sorry for asking." Max blinked and shook his head, basically ignoring her answer and driving to Ciao Bella in Davenport City.

The car rolled up the driveway and stopped. Max pulled the key from the ignition and got out, closing his door and half-jogging around to the other side and opening Alisha's door.
