Hi there, and welcome to Pokemon Paradise. You’ve stumbled upon what may be one of the closest and most friendly communities on ZetaBoards. It was at least three in the morning and the girls had been watching movies since they returned home at eleven. The rest of the base was completely silent, the hush disrupted only by the television's soft mumble as the redhead turned down the volume. “You can go to your room if you want.” But Storm, true to her nature, was already half unconscious on the couch, unaware of her head pillowed on Samm's shoulder. “S'all right,” she muttered. “I have fun with you.” She forced her eyes open into thin slits and lifted her head, muscles knotting up when she realized her position. If she tried to make it all the way to her apartment, she'd conk out in the hallway somewhere. Getting up was a lost cause anyway, her legs asleep underneath her, but she didn't mind. She was used to crashing on couches and sofas. “I'm so tired!” Samm stretched herself out and leaned back into the arm of the couch, unfolding her legs across Storm's lap. Her jade eyes fluttered shut as she continued, “Tell me a secret, Storm,” with her chin tilted back. Her mind too foggy to comprehend the situation, the colorful teenager responded, “I'm afraid of the dark.” She rested her arms over Samm's legs, skin silky to the touch of her wrists, and yawned. “I'm never going to wake up after this. You're putting me into a coma.” She leaned her head onto the cushion and released a long breath. “How do you sleep at night, then?” the older girl inquired. She tilted her head to peek at Storm from the corner of her eyes like surfacing emeralds. A fumbling hand reached for the remote and finally flicked the television off, tactfully choosing not to also extinguish the overhead light. Storm lifted her shoulders in a weak shrug. “I don't. Neither does Diderot. We kind of just stare at each other all night, but it helps that he's there, too. It's not as bad if someone else is around.” Her tongue was much looser with fatigue, she noticed even as she spoke. She didn't mind it all that much. “Do you want to sleep out here with me?” Sammantha asked. She pulled her legs off of Storm's lap and sat up, running her long fingers through that spiky hair. “If you don't sleep well alone... Like a slumber party!” Storm didn't doubt that the girl's past was filled with pink and unicorns and girl-only parties, the drastic opposite of her own. “If... you don't mind,” she hesitated and was surprised by how much the idea appealed to her. Maybe she wouldn't have nightmares that night if Samm was nearby. “Kay,” and Samm covered her mouth in a yawn. “Lay down then. I won't bite.” One hand guided Storm down so that her head was pillowed in the teenager's lap, legs extended across the cushions. “Goodnight.”
