Alas, a cornucopia of love!

 After jumping into the pile of ash, sending the black dust flying into the air, Nicholas cried out in pain. "Ow! Shit, I landed on something..." He rolled off of the pile and sat up, rubbing his back. Once the pain calmed some, he went to dig through the pile of ash to find whatever it was he landed on. "Oh, man... Naddan, Alex, you gotta come see this!"

 Holding Ditto in her arms, Alex shuffled over to Nicholas. Ditto jumped out of her arms and sat on top of the object, peering curiously at it.
Can we pretend that airplanes
in the night sky are like shooting stars?

 Nicholas bent down to get a closer look at the roundish, gray, smooth object. He dusted off a small screen on it and then blew the rest of the ash away. Squinting, he read off the message on the screen: "Fourty seconds... thirty-nine seconds... thirty-eight seconds... Oh... I think it's a bomb." He turned around and looked up at Alex and Naddan, and then it struck him. "Oh, shit, it's a bomb!" He jumped up from the ground and scrambled away from them, running towards the water's edge.
So many things were left unsaid, it's hard to let you go.

 "OHGOD A BOMB AHHHHHHHHHAAAAAARRRRRRGH," Alex yelled, scooping up Ditto, who was poking the bomb repeatedly with its foot. She scrambled away, running as far as she could away from the bomb.
Can we pretend that airplanes

 Naddan blinked. "Wha...Djinn, get it out of here!" The Flygon hesitated. "NOW!" Djinn unfolded his wings and took to the sky, grabbing the bomb in the same motion. He zipped past Nick and out over the water, flying low and quickly.
Naddan slowly counted under his breath. "16...15..." Djinn's wings beat furiously. "Ten...THROW IT!"
Djinn was far enough away now that the explosion wouldn't reach those standing onshore...Naddan hoped. Now, with seconds to go, Djinn just had to escape, as well...

 Nicholas tripped and landed on his stomach. Gasping for air, he looked up to watch the Flygon dispose of the bomb. He counted the seconds in his head. Six, five... it would be close.

 Alex threw Ditto into the air. "Ditto, transform into a Ninjask, catch up to Flygon and use Hyper Beam on the bomb to push it farther away to the water!" she barked. Ditto quickly transformed into the Pokemon Alex requested, catching up to Flygon quickly. It poked Flygon. "Throw it!" it said.

 While the Flygon had thrown the bomb into the air, Ditto was charging up a hyper beam as much as it could. Before the bomb lost too much air, Ditto fired it at the bomb, shooting it across the city, landing in unexplored ruins. The bomb exploded, sending a dark orange mushroom cloud up into the air, announcing to anyone who could see or hear that there were still more bombs planted in the city, ready to explode at any time.

Ditto flew back, transforming back to its gelatinous self after landing in Alex's arms.

"Good job, Ditto!" Alex grinned. "But... There must be more bombs than that. We'll just have to be super careful... or something..."

 Nicholas led the way to the ruins of the restaurant. "Okay, guys, be really, really careful with where you step. I'd say just start digging around to see if you find anything, and if you find a bomb, get it away from the area where everyone is."

 Alex nodded, sitting down to search through the ash. Ditto transformed into a toy dump truck with a scooper in the front, scooping the ash into the back and hauling it away.

 Alex winced. "I-I don't know, Nicholas. I'm just really confused. I'm not sure if I want to go into a relationship anymore..." she said. Ditto decided that being a toy dump truck was boring, so he transformed into Wall-E instead, scooping the ash into his box and compacting it, spitting out a block of ash.
